Being imbued with the moral principle of “When drinking water, remember its source”, Binh Duong province’s Party, government and people have paid attention to “paying debt of gratitude” activities.
Well realizing policies
The province paid attention to “paying debt of gratitude” activities over the past year. Noticeably, provincial leaders visited, presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiary families, elderly people and revolutionary contributors on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) and Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2017.

Provincial leaders also instructed the province’s sector of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to recheck revolutionary contributors’ documents in order to sufficiently ensure policies for them. In 2017 alone, the whole province had 8,569 elderly people enjoying monthly allowance with more than VND116trillion; built and upgraded 174 gratitude houses for revolutionary contributors with a total expense of more than ND 9.2billion.
Le Van Mot, a war invalid in Dau Tieng district’s An Lap commune said that he fell very happy as the State and Party have always taken good care of policy beneficiary families after the national liberation.
Warming the heart of the living
In a bid to pay tribute to heroic martyrs who laid down their lives to safeguard the country, the province also implemented a task of finding remains of martyrs over the past year.
Particularly, provincial Military Command searched and collected 139 sets of remains of martyrs in Ben Tan, Tan Uyen towns and Dau Tieng district. In December alone, the unit found 10 sets of remains of martyrs in Dinh An commune’s Dong Sen hamlet in Dau Tieng district; 1 in Tan Uyen town’s Phu Chanh commune. The province also held burial ceremonies for 104 remains of martyrs at Ben Cat town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery.
Besides, the province’s sector of labor, war invalids and social affairs set confirmations of martyrs’ tombs being managed by it and sent them to 498 families of martyrs. The province also built martyrs’ cemeteries, monuments to martyrs…
Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affair said that in 2018, the province will further boost propaganda on the moral principle of “when drinking water, remember its source” to raise awareness of authorities at all levels and people in carrying out policies for revolutionary contributors; disseminate the State’s preferential policies for revolutionary contributors; honor outstanding collectives and individuals in realizing ”paying debt of gratitude” activities; widely and deeply make socialization of “paying debt of gratitude” activities.
