According to statistics by provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), provincial Market Control Department in the first nine months of 2014 made inspection tours of 1,993 cases, down 28.7% compared to last year’s same period.
As a result, the department found out 508 wrong cases, down 19% against last year’s corresponding period, 481 of which were handled with a total fine of more than VND3.3bln. The total value of goods confiscated was estimated at more than VND3.3bln.
Provincial DoIT also joined hands with intersectoral inspection delegations to make inspection tours of 1,216 cases on food safety and hygiene, goods’ quality…Among them, there were 357 wrong cases, accounting for 28.3% of total.
Also during the period, provincial Market Control Department sped up dissemination of information about the Government’s Decree No.185/2013ND-CP dated November 15, 2013 regulating administrative punishment in trade activities, the Law on Intellectual Property…and held a seminar on “Improving skills against fake products and infringement relating to intellectual property rights” for market control forces at all levels of the province.
