Before the outbreak of blue-ear-pig disease, Binh Duong province’s neighboring districts of HCM city and Dong Nai have taken initiative in preventing the epidemic disease, especially on inter-local roads.
Di An and Thuan An are two neighboring districts of HCM city and Dong Nai, so they have found it difficulty to control and prevent blue-ear-pig disease compared to other localities in Binh Duong province. Due to having few quarantine stations and veterinary staff, the spread of blue-ear disease in pigs is also very easy to occur in the two localities.
Di An district is also a place with a large number of cattle and poultry and is a neighboring locality of Tan Uyen district where has been hit by the blue-ear-pig epidemic disease. Therefore, the district now faces the risk of the disease spreading.
Before the complicated development of blue-ear-pig disease, Di An district’s Veterinary Station has strengthened its network and reminded its staff to be more vigilant over the disease epidemic and take the initiative in preventing it. Particularly, the local veterinary and station has tightened control over the transport, slaughter and trading of pigs; strengthened disinfection of the local breeding facilities and education of the epidemic disease among the local people…
Like Di An, Thuan An district has no reports on the outbreak of blue-ear-pig epidemic epidemic disease, but now encounters some hurdles in preventing the epidemic disease. The district’s Veterinary Station has recently joined hands with relevant agencies to take measures against the epidemic disease.
Khieu Quang Lan, head of the district’s Veterinary Station said that due to having street markets, the district has found it hard to discover and prevent blue-ear-pig epidemic disease. Apartedly, the district has not yet set up lots of quarantine points on roads to be able to well control the epidemic disease.
In fact, breeders in many localities nationwide, including Binh Duong province, have not yet had close coordination with veterinary agencies in discovering and preventing blue-ear-pig epidemic disease. The loose control over the transport of pigs in infected localities also contributed to promoting the spread of the epidemic disease over the past time…
In the current context, vigilance over blue-ear-pig epidemic disease and taking the initiative in preventing it must be put in firstly. Apartedly, the support policies for breeders hit by the epidemic disease need to be implemented quickly…
