Provincial Buddhist Sangha solemnly holds ceremony in celebration of Lord Buddha’s 2567th birthday

Early June 2, the Executive Board of provincial Buddhist Sangha solemnly held a ceremony in celebration of Lord Buddha’s 2567th birthday (Vesak day) at Hoi Khanh pagoda in Thu Dau Mot city.

The ceremony was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Dong, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee; leaders of departments, sectors, mass organizations in the province and Thu Dau Mot city together with Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers in the province.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Hue Thong, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Legal Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of provincial Buddhist Sangha read the Message of the Buddha's 2567th birthday of the Patriarch of the Patronage Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Loc sent his best wishes to Buddhist dignitaries together with all Buddhist monks, nuns and followers on the occasion of Lord Buddha's 2567th birthday. He also emphasized that Buddhist Sangha leaders at all levels, monks and nuns in the province have always been exemplary in implementing and mobilizing Buddhist followers to well implement the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements launched by provincial Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations.

Mr. Loc said that provincial leaders have always spoken highly of contributions by the local Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers to the cause of great national unity, promoting the local development while believing that provincial Buddhist Sangha will further preserve and promote the tradition of "defending the country and reassuring the people" and the motto of "Dharma - Nationalism - Socialism"...
