Provincial education training branch overcomes difficulties and achieves goals

On August 28, Binh Duong Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross Society to hold a conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year and award scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and studied well. The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; representatives of departments, branches and localities in the province.

Continue making achievements

In the school year 2023-2024, education and training sector continued to implement the 2018 General Education Program. With the spirit of solidarity, the education and training sector overcame many difficulties and challenges to successfully complete the set goals and achieved encouraging results. Up to now, the whole branch has basically completed well the tasks of implementing the preschool education program and the 2018 General Education Program.

Namely, 100% of public schools and centers in the province are solid facilities, of which 315 are multi-storey (reaching a rate of 83.55%). The whole province has 316/355 schools meeting national standards (89.01%), an increase of 3.98% compared to the previous school year. The number of teachers with qualified qualifications or higher reached 92.09% (an increase of 3.92% compared to the 2022-2023 school year)... In addition, the whole branch focused on directing the drastic and strong implementation of digital transformation, expanding programs of "Smart School" and "Happy School".

Continue to strengthen the implementation of solutions to maintain and improve high school graduation exam results, university admission results, and the quality of foreign language teaching and learning. Creative and flexible in implementing comprehensive educational topics, aiming to equip students with knowledge and skills of the digital age...

Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training, said that to achieve these results, the education training branch receives timely and consistent attention and direction from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, especially in solving difficulties and problems.

Besides, there is the active and effective cooperation from departments, branches, organizations, localities and the consensus of all classes of people for the cause of education and training, especially in implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education training.

Provincial leaders award scholarships to students having difficult circumstances. 

Also according to the leaders of provincial education sector, the 2024-2025 school year is the fifth year of implementing the 2018 General Education Program, which will be taught in all grades. With the theme "Innovation, quality improvement, solidarity and discipline", the whole branch will put more effort to overcome difficulties to continue make fundamental and comprehensive innovation to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization.

Accompany disadvantaged students

To increase confidence and motivation to disadvantaged students before the new school year, at the ceremony, the Provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Department of Education and Training, Provincial Education Promotion Association, agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists awarded 1,025 scholarships to disadvantaged students throughout the province.

Each student received a scholarship of 1 million VND/month, 12 million VND/year, awarded to them quarterly. The total budget for scholarship support during the 2023-2024 school year is 12 billion 300 million VND; the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education awarded 72 scholarships to students of high schools and continuing education centers, each worth 5 million VND.

It is known that in the opening ceremony of the upcoming new school year, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education will also award 119 scholarships to students of schools in the province. Each scholarship is worth 5 million VND, the total value of the scholarships is 955 million VND.

The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have directed departments, branches and localities to implement many action programs for building a learning society; encouraging learning and talent in the province with the determination "No student due to difficult circumstances cannot go to school".

In particular, the Red Cross is a pioneer and typical unit in mobilizing and awarding scholarships and support resources for students having difficult circumstances in the province. This is a great source of encouragement for families and students to overcome difficulties and continue schooling.
