Recently, Farmers' Union at all levels in the province has continued to innovate in content and methods, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of farmers' movements to meet the tasks required in the new period.
Connect farmers
In addition to the goal of establishing a strong association, Farmers' Union at all levels in the province has actively engaged in creating and enhancing collective economic initiatives. This includes the development of branches, professional farmer associations, cooperatives, and production groups, which aim to unite farmers in their pursuit of production development and to help them achieve prosperity.
In order to foster solidarity, grassroots Farmers' Unions are developing new models that enhance the effectiveness of their activities and strengthen connections with farmers. For example, Farmers' Union of Thanh Phuoc Ward (Tan Uyen City) has launched the "Farmers' Morning Coffee". The program is organized periodically once a month from 6 - 7 am on the last day of every month at Du Khanh quarter. The program is designed to create an environment where farmers can meet and share their experiences in cultivation and livestock breeding. It aims to foster collective learning about effective and innovative practices for production development. By doing so, the program helps improve the productivity of both crops and livestock. Additionally, it contributes to the growth and development of its members, strengthens the organization of the association, and enhances the quality of its activities.
In this program, the Ward Farmers' Union awarded members 3 million VND to undertake frog and eel farming projects aimed at promoting economic development, increasing income, and reducing poverty. Additionally, two gifts worth 500,000 VND each were given to children of members who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies.
The "Morning Coffee for Farmers" event brings together leaders from the City Farmers' Union, the Ward People's Committee, the Fatherland Front, and various mass organizations from local wards and quarters. During this gathering, leaders listen to concerns, aspirations, challenges, and issues faced by farmers and the community at large. It also serves as an opportunity for local leaders to gather valuable feedback, contributions, and suggestions from the public, enabling them to make informed decisions that enhance their leadership, direction, and operational effectiveness.
Additionally, Farmers' Union at all levels has proactively organized opportunities for members to visit and learn from successful models. This allows members and farmers to exchange knowledge, transfer scientific and technological advancements, and apply high technology in production. As a result, productivity and quality are enhanced, fostering connections, cooperation, and the consumption of agricultural products.
The Union creates an environment where farmers can study new techniques and engage in dialogue with Party and State leaders. This initiative strengthens the Party's leadership, enhances the effectiveness of public communication, and ensures the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of farmers. Such efforts aim to promote agricultural production by advancing high-tech agriculture and sustainable development.
Ebullient competition
Recently, Standing Committee of Provincial Farmers' Union has been mobilizing all levels of the association to actively participate in the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". One of the initiatives put into action by Farmers' Union at all levels is the implementation of a self-management model that is linked to the movement "All people protect national security" and the movement "All people uphold solidarity to build a cultural life."
In the first quarter of 2025, Farmers' Union in Phu An commune (Ben Cat city) organized an event called "Farmers' Day with the Law." During this program, officials and members were informed about new traffic regulations as part of local law dissemination and education. Additionally, the union launched a "Self-managed environmental protection team" to respond to climate change, which was linked to a "Self-managed security and order" initiative. They also established a program for three safe routes on street DX107 in Ben Giang hamlet.
Furthermore, the Commune Farmers' Union collaborated with the Commune Police to have households along the route sign commitments to ensure security and order. This initiative aims to enhance people's awareness and actions in organizing and implementing the movement "Farmers participate in ensuring national defense and security."
Farmers' Union at all levels also coordinate efforts to encourage its members and leaders to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements; implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines related to the development of new rural areas and urban areas that reflect civility. Additionally, they contribute resources to support the achievement of socio-economic development goals and to enhance national defense and security in their communities.
Provincial Farmers' Union has set several targets for farmers' unions and movements in 2025. Namely, 100% of farmers' unions at all levels will provide support and consulting services to farmers; coordinate the organization of legal advice and legal aid for over 10,000 cadres and members of the association. Additionally, every association will establish and maintain at least one model for environmental protection and one model for self-management of security and order, with the goal of creating at least 20 new environmental protection models that are adapted to climate change. Furthermore, Farmers' Unions at all levels will facilitate at least one meeting and dialogue session between government leaders and farmers. |
