*Provincial Buddhist Sangha mobilizes over VND1billion for flood victims in central region
Upholding the traditions of “mutual affection, mutual love”, “the good leaves protect the worn-out ones” plus the spirit of “sharing rice, sharing clothes”, Binh Duong province’s Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) has called for armed forces, agencies, units, enterprises and people in the province to support flood victims in the central region. As of November 2, provincial FFC sent relief aid, including 315 boxes of instant noodle, 1,530 kg of rice, more than 1 ton of old clothes, books…, to flood victims in the central province of Quang Tri.
Prior to that, Binh Duong offered VND2.6billion to flood victims in the two central provinces of Quang Binh and Ha Tinh. Some delegations from the province also supported flood victims in the central region. Thus, the whole province provided more than VND 4.79billion for the victims. Provincial FFC continues receiving relief aid for the victims at No.15, Au Co street, quarter 1, Hiep Thanh ward, TDM city.
*Under an appeal of the Central Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, provincial Buddhist Sangha has mobilized Buddhist dignitaries, nuns, monks and enterprises in the province to support flood victims in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces.
Venerable Thich Hue Thong (photo), Head of provincial Buddhist Sangha together with provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Charity Board and enterprises visited pupils at primary schools in Quang Binh province’s Minh Hoa district; presented more than 2,100 gifts worth VND1.05billion to people seriously hit by floods in Quang Binh, Quang Tri provinces.
