Provincial Health Science Association with efforts to improve communication effectiveness

In 2024, the Binh Duong Provincial Health Science Association has actively fulfilled its role as a member of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, collaborating with various units to enhance communication effectiveness and disseminate professional knowledge.

 To promote its role

Provincial Health Science Association is a voluntary social and professional organization. The purpose of the association is to gather and unite members who are collectives and individuals operating in fields of medicine, biology, and fields related to human health; protect the legitimate rights and interests of members; and support each other to operate effectively, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. As promoting the role of an active member of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, leaders of the Provincial Health Science Association signed a competition agreement with 18 member associations. In the emulation bloc of the Provincial Science and Technology Associations, the association organized the signing of emulation covenants between departments, offices and member associations to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Associate Professor - Doctor Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Provincial Health Science Association: The main tasks of the association are communication work in the health sector; scientific research and technology transfer; medical communication; medical training and coaching; policy review and contribution; gathering domestic and foreign scientists; building the association into a place for members to learn, share experiences, and create better health for everyone.

In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Health Science Association signed a memorandum of understanding with HTC Equipment Company to coordinate activities related to medical communication and technology funding; worked with the Ho Chi Minh City Stem Cell Association on coordination of training and medical communication for human resources working for cosmetic facilities in Binh Duong. Additionally, the Provincial Health Science Association arranged for its members to participate in free continuing medical education (CME) programs at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City with the following topics: Advances in assisted reproduction, equipment in research at biomedical research centers, intellectual property in medical research and teaching…

Organize many professional seminars

To enhance communication effectiveness and knowledge dissemination, the Provincial Health Science Association, in coordination with various units, hosted professional seminars in 2024. Specifically, they are partnering with the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations to conduct a scientific communication workshop titled "Preventing High Blood Pressure and Understanding Its Effects on Patient Health and Psychology."

At the workshop, delegates enthusiastically discussed the causes, complications, prevention, and appropriate treatment options for high blood pressure and stroke; they shared about the signs of stroke and how to handle them... According to Dr. Le Duc Hai, a neurologist at My Phuoc General Hospital - Binh Duong, stroke is no longer a disease of the elderly. Stroke is becoming increasingly younger and is a threat to a whole future generation of young people; the number of people suffering from it is increasing, but most stroke cases in young people have no warning symptoms.

Sharing about complications caused by high blood pressure, Dr. Hoang Nhu Phuc, a cardiologist at Van Phuc City General Hospital, said that high blood pressure is a common disease and the number of people suffering from this disease is increasing in the community. The disease often develops silently and can lead to dangerous complications if not controlled and treated early. High blood pressure is one of the causes of premature death in cardiovascular patients. Untreated or untreated high blood pressure can lead to complications of high blood pressure affecting the heart, brain, kidneys and other organs.

The Provincial Health Science Association also coordinated with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Thu Dau Mot University to organize a faculty-level scientific conference with the theme "Advances in research and clinical pathology of bones and joints", with 6 reports presented by experts inside and outside the province; coordinated with the Department of Health, Binh Duong Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to organize a scientific conference on "obstetrics and pediatrics" with the participation of leading experts in obstetrics and gynecology, including people's doctor, Associate Professor - Doctor Huynh Nguyen Khanh Trang, Hung Vuong Hospital and more than 70 obstetricians and pediatricians from Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc.

The Provincial Health Science Association also cooperated with Binh Duong Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to organize a communication and education consultation program for pregnant mothers with the theme "Helping babies be smart while still in the womb"...

The Provincial Health Science Association was established under Decision No. 2903/QD-UBND dated November 8, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee. The Association has completed a Standing Committee with 5 members and elected an additional Vice President of the Association. Associate Professor - Doctor Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Thu Dau Mot University - concurrently Head of the Tissue Cell Unit, Head of Science and Technology Management, Biomedical Research Center, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine was elected as the President of the Association.
