Provincial land planning until 2020

Land planning is the allocation and localizing of land for targets of socioeconomic, defense – security development, environmentally protection, climate change adaption based on land potentialities and resources as well as land using needs of each region, organization.

In order to improve provincial PCI index as well as create optimal business environment, enhance socioeconomic development, devising and implementing land plans is an crucial responsibilities of People’s Committees of all levels. Therefore, land planning till 2020, land using plans in 5 years (2011-2015) at three levels of province, districts, and communes were developed by provincial People’s Committee in 2009.

Efficient land planning facilitates provincial socioeconomic development.

Land planning and projecting in Binh Duong province was approved and announced widely on mass media, provincial official website, Department of Natural Resources and Environment’s website so that people can access to this information anytime anywhere.

This is an important legal foundation for related agencies to practice legal decisions, e.g. land revoking, transferring, leasing, land using right transferring. Thereby, investors are able to select appropriate places to invest.

According to plan of period from 2011 to 2020, the province will develop more 5,092ha for industrial parks. Particularly, from 2011 to 2015, 2,742ha have been used for establishing and expanding industrial parks at key areas; from 2016 to 2020, 2,350ha will be used for developing of 7 industrial parks at suburban areas with the purpose of promoting equitable development between rural and urban areas. In addition, 1,000ha of agricultural land will be transferred to commercial – service development.                         

In general, land for investment attracting has been increased. Provincial land planning has proved its positive influences in socioeconomic development and land management.

Land is a public and precious property of each country. Using land economically, efficiently, sustainably is always an imperative in the strategic planning of land use.
