Early December 30, Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee had a meeting with Ben Cat town to inspect the local Covid-19 prevention and control.
Reporting to the delegation, Bui Duy Hien, Secretary of the town’s Party Committee said: During this week, the number of Covid-19 infections in the town decreased by more than 20% compared to the previous week. However, the town predicts that from now until the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2022, the number of infections is likely to increase, so the town has been proactive to prepare equipment, medicine, oxygen... Up to now, the whole town has administered 660,081 doses of Covid-19 vaccine for people. In the coming days, the town will speed up vaccination against Covid-19 for people. On December 31 ahead, the town will organize mobile injection sites in the community and at factories. In case of people being determined not to go for injections, they are required to make a commitment to bear all responsibilities when being infected with Covid-19.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha asked for the town to continue calling for people to implement the "5K" message of the Ministry of Health; disseminated and mobilized people to actively get vaccinated against Covid-19. Localities need to urgently review and give injections for those who have not been injected yet, or have not had enough shots, especially for the elderly and people with underlying diseases in the spirit of “go to every alley, knock on every door, track every subject”. In addition, the town also needs to actively classify F0 cases with high risk for management, care and treatment to minimize the rate of severe Covid-19 cases and deaths.
After the working session at the town’s People's Committee, the delegation had a field trip to the Covid-19 treatment area of the town’s Medical Center, the Mobile Medical Station of My Phuoc ward and the injection site for people in Thoi Hoa ward’s quarter 6. According to Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health, the speed of injecting third shots of Covid-19 vaccine in the town is still slow. The town in particular and districts, towns and cities in the province in general need to speed up vaccination against Covid-19 to increase herd immunity. If running out of Covid-19 vaccines, the province will continue receiving additional vaccines from the government to give infections for people.
