Respectful achievements
At the meeting, Mr.Thao extended the best wishes together with deep and sincere gratitude to leaders of provincial Department of Health, provincial General Hospital and all staff of the local healthcare sector on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of Vietnamese Physicians ‘Day. He said that the province has well curbed the pandemic, which is the accomplishment of the local political system, each citizen, but the role of frontline belonging to the local healthcare workers.
Dr.Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health said that although facing difficulties from Covid-19 pandemic, the local healthcare sector last year reached and surpassed the set targets, especially well controlled the pandemic under the instruction of provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee together with the efforts by all staff of the sector.
Provincial General Hospital also made positive changes in medical treatment-examination and gained major achievements. At the meeting, Dr.Van Quang Tam, Director of provincial General Hospital extended his delight at the deep attention of provincial leaders. Last year, under the instruction and attention of provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee and Health Department, the hospital surmounted difficulties, completing entrusted tasks. In 2021, the hospital will join hands with the local healthcare sector to gain fruits, better improving public healthcare.
Pervasion of humanity…
Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Thao emphasized that the annual Vietnamese Physicians ‘Day is a chance for the whole society to pay tribute to the efforts by medical workers. But, this year is a special year as this is the period the whole political system of the country in general and the local healthcare sector in particular have joined hands to prevent Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, physicians have to ignore their personal joy and team up to push back the pandemic. This is a nice deed full of humanity, contributing to strengthening people’s trust in the Party and State’s leadership.
He also asked for the sector to better improve medical treatment, preventive health and listen to people’s contributive ideas in order to further enhance medical workers ‘competence for better public healthcare. The province is facing the situation of fast growing population along with vigorous development in the number of healthcare workers at private medical facilities. Therefore, each healthcare worker needs to spare no efforts. Province-based healthcare facilities need to consider this as an agenda in association with new conditions to improve medical workers ‘specialist knowledge…
Addressing the event, Mr.Nam said that provincial leaders have always defined that healthcare is one of major sectors to the development of the province. In the coming time, the province will organize annual meetings between provincial Party Standing Committee and healthcare sector in order to grasp feelings, aspirations of the sector’s staff. In the last pandemic, the local medical sector won steady trust of provincial leaders and each citizen. He suggested the sector to effectively implement tasks, solutions put forward by the Party and State while enhancing its capacity of preventive health and treatment in order to combat urgent cases, ensure health security, food safety and be proactive in disease prevention and control.
It is known that there are now 100% of communes, wards and townships in the province with health stations, doctors, national standards on healthcare; 7.5 doctors and 20.04 hospital bed per 10,000 residents. The province’s public healthcare system has been strengthened gradually with material facilities, equipment basically meeting people’s demand for medical examination and treatment…
