A delegation of provincial leaders, on June 4, visited, offered gifts to 58 local centenarians on the traditional day of the Vietnamese elderly (June 6).
In the visiting places, representative of the delegation extended best regards to these centenarians while giving gifts for them. Each gift included five meters of silk, VND1.2million and confectionary worth VND500,000.
This was of practical activities done by the province to encourage the local elderly people to further live healthily and joyfully and brace up descendants to uphold their family tradition, contributing to the cause of national development and construction.
*On the morning of the same day, leaders of Bau Bang district visited, offered gifts to 4 centenarians in Tan Hung communes and Lai Uyen township.
In the visiting places, they extended best regards to these elderly people, wished them good health while wanting that they will continue being bright examples for descendants to follow.
On this occasion, leaders of Thuan An town also held 4 delegations to visit and donate gifts to 24 elderly people, including 4 centenarians. Each gift for elderly people aged at 90 included necessities worth VND300,000 and VND700,000 in cash. For centenarians, each was given 5 meters of silk, a gift worth VND500,000 and VND1.2million in cash.
In addition, leaders of other localities in the province organized delegations to visit and offer gifts to elderly people aged at 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 and over 100.
