Provincial Ornamental Creatures Association, on December 6, held its 2nd congress for the 2013 and 2018 tenure and elected a new executive board with 37 members. Doan Minh Chien was nominated as a chairman of the association.
As of September 30, 2013, provincial Ornamental Creatures Association developed 38 branches at all levels and 7 clubs with a total of 912 members. The association in the last tenure teamed up with province-based vocational training centers and Thu Dau Mot Vocational Junior College to open 12 classes on growing and tending ornamental creatures for 370 learners, around 200 of whom created jobs by themselves.
The association also coordinated with provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism to organize the annual Spring Flower Festival; sent members to the annual Spring Flower Festival at Tao Dan Park in HCM city, an exhibition marking the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi with 50 participating art works, the Mekong Delta Ornamental Creatures Festival…Many households and members changed to growing and trading ornamental creatures with a large scale, forming up a lot of ornamental trees-growing areas in TDM city, Tan Uyen with a total area estimated at around 100 hectares…
On this occasion, 3 individuals and 2 collectives were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee for their contributions to provincial Ornamental Creatures Association for the 2009 and 2013 period. 21 individuals also received the mementoes “For cause of the Vietnamese ornamental creatures; 6 individuals with the mementoes “For the cause of the Vietnamese Union of Associations”; 16 individuals with the certificates of merit of provincial Union of Science-Technology Associations; 43 individuals with the certificates of merit of provincial Ornamental Creatures Association.
