On the afternoon of July 9, provincial People’s Council’s Committee for Cultural and Social Affairs held a meeting to review contents to be presented at the 16th session (mid-year regular session of 2024) of the 10th provincial People's Council. The meeting was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council.
At the meeting, delegates heard a review report on the implementation of the resolutions of provincial People's Council in the fields of culture and society during the first six months of the year, directions and tasks for the last six months of 2024. They also reviewed the draft report on the verification of contents in the cultural and social fields to be presented at the upcoming 16th session of provincial People’s Council and the draft resolution stipulating the content and expenditure levels for implementing the "Building a learning-based society for the 2021-2030 period" project in the province.
The delegates agreed with the content of the review report on the results of activities for the first six months and the tasks for the last six months of the Committee for Cultural and Social Affairs. They also highly agreed with the expenditure levels for implementing the "Building a learning-based society for the 2021-2030 period" project.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loc suggested that the report should clearly state achieved results and high achievements, and propose solutions to competent authorities to address existing issues and shortcomings. Regarding the "Building a learning-based society for the 2021-2030 period" project, Chairman of provincial People's Council emphasized the need to acknowledge a survey by provincial Fatherland Front Committee on the children of immigrant workers temporarily residing in the province to provide appropriate support solutions.
*On the same afternoon, provincial People's Council Legal Committee held a meeting to review contents in the legal field to be presented at the 16th session of the 10th provincial People's Council. The meeting was attended by Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of provincial People’s Council.
At the meeting, the delegates reviewed draft resolutions on abolishing certain resolutions of provincial People’s Council on policies supporting drug prevention, control, and supervision; amending provincial People’s Council’s Resolution No. 55/NQ-HĐND dated December 8, 2023 on approving the total number of civil servants in the agencies of provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, and district, town, and city-level People’s Committees; and approving the number of employees working in public non-business units in Binh Duong province in 2024.
Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Head of provincial People’s Council Legal Committee requested the drafting agencies of the resolutions to get the delegates' opinions to adjust and supplement the contents of the draft resolutions in accordance with regulations; soon complete the draft resolutions to present them at the 16th session of the 10th provincial People’s Council for consideration and approval.
