Provincial Red Cross help 300 poor people buy goods at "VND0 market"

On April 1, the Provincial Red Cross organized a "VND0 market" to support disadvantaged people. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly; and representatives of provincial departments, unions and Thu Dau Mot City leaders.

This was the sixth VND0 market held by the Provincial Red Cross in 2022. This market aided 300 people who are members of the Provincial Blind Association, workers staying in lodging houses, people who lost income due to the Covid-19, and other vulnerable people in the province. People going to the market were instructed to take anti-pandemic measures and were able to select food and necessities for daily needs. Each gift was worth about 600,000 VND, including rice, noodles, milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits and other necessities.

On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross received the cooperation and contribution to humanitarian activities from individuals, units and organizations, such as: Inspectorate of the Provincial Department of Transport donated 1 ton of rice; Phu Giáo District Red Cross 6,000 eggs; Gia Đình Cooperative 10 tons of clean vegetables; Social Charity Board of Provincial Buddhist Sangha 5 tons of rice; North Tan Uyen District Red Cross 500kg of fruits; Huynh Nga VND20 million; Minh Canh VND10 million, and Tran Thi Kim Thy 150 boxes of instant noodles.

At the market, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi encouraged poor people to overcome their difficulties and have a better life. He appreciated this Provincial Red Cross’s meaningful activity, which has mobilized the support of many units, individuals and organizations to help share difficulties and care for poor people. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee wished that the VND0 markets and other meaningful humanitarian charity activities would be maintained and expanded by Red Cross at all levels to spread love and share difficulties in the community. Meaningful activities like this will contribute to helping vulnerable people in society to alleviate some difficulties, multiplying the noble meanings in life.
