Provincial Red Cross Society gives essential goods for the poor

Early March 6, provincial Red Cross Society held a "Zero dong” market-day to support goods for people with difficult circumstances.

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People's Council and representatives of provincial departments, sectors and mass organizations.

In a bid to share difficulties with people, provincial Red Cross Society distributed vouchers to 500 people with disabilities, freelancers, and those with difficult circumstances in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town. Each voucher to go to the market-day was supported with many necessities worth over VND 1.2 million. Also at the market-day, provincial Red Cross Society gave financial support and goods to the Red Cross Societies of 9 districts, towns and cities. Accordingly, each district, town and city was supported with expenditure and goods to organize a “Zero dong” market-day worth VND200 million. The total value of the market on March 6 was over VND 2.4 billion.

On this occasion, provincial Red Cross Society received more support resources from enterprises and individuals. Provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Charity Board supported VND 100 million for people in Turkey and Syria, helping them overcome difficulties from the last earthquake disaster.
