Provincial Red Cross Society upholds “For all people” spirit

Upholding the spirit of “For all people”, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have brought the joy to many poor people, helping them get more conditions in order to rise up in life…

Taking care of the poor

Provincial Red Cross Society has made efforts in mobilizing organizations, individuals and donors to share difficulties with the local poor people. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society said that thanks to contributions by them, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have organized many practical programs with thousands of gifts for the poor, contributing to stabilizing their lives. Since early this year, they have built 41 houses and upgraded 6 “red cross” households with a total value of more than VND2.3billion.

One of activities effectively realized by provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels over the past time was the campaign of “Each organization, organization should stick to a humanitarian address”. In the period of 2018-2018, they mobilized 2,336 agencies, units, enterprises and individuals to offer help of more than VND60billion to 6,160 addresses.

In 2019, the campaign continued upholding its efficiency. Mrs.Trinh said that the Steering Board of the campaign has strengthened propaganda activities, aiming to raise organizations and individuals’ awareness of the campaign for better results. Provincial Red Cross Society has also attached special importance to rechecking a list of people with difficult extremely circumstances for timely help.

Pervasion of humanitarian value

Over the past time, provincial Red Cross Society made efforts in all activities, firmly keeping its crucial role in the humanitarian cause. Mrs.Trinh said that provincial Red Cross Society has implemented a lot of significant activities with the pervasion of humanitarian value in the community, comprising of offering gifts to needy people; donating “red cross” houses, organizing humanitarian blood donation, providing free medical check-up, medicine for disadvantaged people…among others.

With such meaningful activities, provincial Red Cross Society over the past time offered help to thousands of people with difficult circumstances in and out of the province every year. In 2019, the whole society mobilized organizations and individuals to support 108,387 poor people, Agent Orange victims, policy beneficiary families, ethnic minority people…with VND22.4billion.

Since early this year, provincial Red Cross Society has visited and presented 600 gifts to 400 poor ethnic minority people in the central province of Quang Tri and 200 poor households in the central province of Phu Yen. The society has also mobilized organizations, individuals to build 6 “red cross” houses for poor households in the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Ben Tre…

Implementing Uncle Ho’s teachings, officials and members of provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have actively got involved in humanitarian activities, offering timely help to disadvantaged people, actively contributing to the local social welfare.

Under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, provincial Red Cross Society has just coordinated with provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Charity Board to visit and donate “red cross” houses to 5 poor ethnic minority households in Binh Phuoc province’s Bu Gia Map district. Each house is worth VND5million-VND70million, funded by nuns, monks from the charity board and some pagodas in the province. On this occasion, members of the delegation also offered gifts to these families, helping them rise up in life.
