To promptly share difficulties with needy people in and outside the province, during the first 9 months, provincial Red Cross and affiliates encouraged philanthropists to support the poor, orphans, lonely old people, the disabled and victims of Agent Orange having difficult circumstances.
The movement "Tet for the poor, victims of Agent Orange 2015" mobilized 41,652 gifts worth VND12,872 million; the campaign "Each organization or individual to connect with a humanitarian address" transferred VND1.8 billion to help 7,293 disadvantaged persons. Affiliates also mobilized resources to build 27 houses, support more than 10 thousand members in start-up capital, seedlings, and varieties worth VND17.3 billion. Provincial Red Cross also organized delegations to give free health check-up, medication to more than 9,000 poor people, policy families, and elderly; conduct 604 cataract surgeries, maintain charity kitchens… with total expense of VND12.7 billion.
In summary, during the first 9 months, provincial Red Cross and affiliates mobilized more than VND65.8 billion for social – charity work, helped more than 941 thousand needy cases in and outside the province.
