Provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients connects resources to support disadvantaged groups

To care for disadvantaged individuals during the 2025 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients, along with all-level authorities, sectors and socio-political organizations within the province, has actively mobilized resources to opportunely deliver Tet gifts to those in need.

Warm Tet gifts

Suffering a workplace accident about eight years ago, Vo Thanh Tuan from Thuan An city’s An Thanh ward has since lost his ability to work to support himself and his family. Despite being nearly 70 years old, his father still works as a laborer to take care of the family’s daily needs.

Life is difficult, so for Tuan, every bit of support is immensely valuable. Upon receiving a Tet gift from provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients, including VND 1.1 million in cash and a gift worth VND 200,000, Tuan shared:  “This money will allow me to purchase a few essential items for my  family to celebrate Tet”.

As one of students with difficult circumstances who received a Tet gift from provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients, Tran Thi Truc Vy, an eighth-grade student at Nguyen Quoc Phu Secondary School in Tan Uyen city shared that her family’s situation is extremely challenging. Vy's mother has to take care of the family alone and work to raise her four school-age children. “Receiving Tet gifts this time, I am very happy because my aunts and uncles care about me. This Tet, my family will be happier. My mother also relieved some of the hardship of taking care of Tet for us”, Vy said emotionally.

Receiving a Tet gift on behalf of her grandson, Nguyen Thi Thuong, 73, from North Tan Uyen district’s Tan My Commune said that over the past few years, her son has been working as a car driver alone to raise 3 children, facing significant financial difficulties. "Seeing my grandson’s family in difficult circumstances, the school and local authorities have been very supportive, ensuring that he always receives a share of any assistance. Coming here to receive the Tet gift on his behalf, I feel deeply touched and grateful. I am very thankful and happy that my grandson is being cared for by the community", Mrs. Thuong expressed.
