The welfare package of VND 30 billion is being implemented by trade unions at all levels of the province, opportunely sharing, motivating trade unionists members and workers with extremely difficult circumstances, due to Covid-19.
Share difficulties
Nguyen Minh Nhut, an employee of Asia Poly Tec Co., Ltd., in the Song Than 1 Industrial Park said that the company's production activities faced many difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic. This also made the lives of workers be seriously affected. Their income decreased while many items needed to be spent. Just returning to work and still facing many difficulties, workers received “welfare bags” from the company’s Trade Union, including essential foods, rice, canned fish, soy sauce, milk, spices... These were very practical and meaningful gifts, helping Nhut's family and other employees have more conditions to overcome difficulties from the pandemic in order to have long attachment with the company.

Similarly, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, a worker here also shared: "I have returned to work for more than half a month. But, my accommodation in the area was “frozen, locked” during the outbreak period of the pandemic. My income was interrupted after nearly 3 months of being absent from work, making my life get difficult. Thanks to the support from trade unions at all levels, I have more motivation as well as conditions to overcome difficulties from the pandemic in order to keep my mind in work”.
Talking about the welfare package of the Trade Union, Nguyen Duy Phuong, President of Compass II Co., Ltd.,’s trade union local in the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) shared: "The welfare package of the Trade Union has further helped trade unionists with extremely difficult circumstances, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Although gifts are not large, they show the affection and support of the Trade Union for trade unionists and employees; thereby providing more motivation for them to overcome difficulties and keep their mind in work and have long attachment with Binh Duong".
Le Phan Huu Hoang, from Vietnam Ferstima Company Co.Ltd. in the VSIP said that after rechecking, the company has 80 trade unionists and employees who are entitled to the welfare package of the Trade Union. These are the employees who do not participate in the "3 on-site” production model, due to difficult family circumstances...In addition to the welfare package of the Trade Union, local authorities, the company’s trade union local have also had policies to take care of workers affected by the pandemic...
Timely support
It is known that provincial Labor Union has just issued a plan to deploy and distribute “welfare bags” to trade unionists and workers with extremely difficult circumstances, due to Covid-19. Accordingly, the welfare package of the Trade Union is equivalent to 150,000 gifts worth VND 200,000 each, including essentials, for trade unionists and laborers affected by Covid-19 pandemic. This program is worth VND 30 billion from the Trade Union’s budget finance and is implemented until the end of November 15, 2021.
Dang Thi Kim Chi, President of the VSIP’s Trade Union said that up to now, enterprises in the VSIP have resumed operations. The VSIP’s Trade Union has also continued organizing activities to take care of the material and spiritual lives of trade unionists and workers. The Trade Union has directed its branches to focus on rechecking and making a list of trade unionists and laborers with extremely difficult circumstances, due to Covid-19, in order to conduct the welfare package of the Trade Union opportunely. Mai Thanh Thao, President of provincial Industrial Parks’ Trade Union said that along with implementing support policies from the Party and State, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for workers and employers affected by the pandemic, since early this year, the Trade Union has focused on directing its branches to implement many practical and effective care activities, contributing to stabilizing the lives of workers. The Trade Union has also carried out many activities to support, visit and encourage trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances, due to the pandemic.
"Provincial Industrial Parks’Trade Union has requested trade union locals to implement the welfare package of the Trade Union for members and workers with extremely difficult circumstances, ensuring opportuneness and practicality, effectiveness. Particularly, the Trade Union has directly handed over “welfare bags” to 144 workers with difficult circumstances, due to Covid-19 epidemic, Mrs.Thao added.
