Nguyen Thanh Thang, from Quang Binh, the husband of a female worker at Shayng Hung Cheng Co., Ltd. in Thuan An city who died, due to Covid-19 pandemic, now has to bear the situation of raising children alone. His wife died early, making him suffer from raising children alone. Working as a construction worker, he has to work twice as hard to have conditions to take care of his eldest daughter, who is in grade 8 this year, and his younger daughter, who is in grade 3…

After taking care of his wife's afterlife, Thang suppressed his grief and returned to work, taking care of his two children. Holding the saving book in hand, he said in a voice choked with emotion: "My wife got sick and suddenly passed away, leaving my family in shock and I was very disappointed. Fortunately, there were regular support and encouragement from the Trade Union. With the current situation, this money will help my 2 children have more conditions to study in the future. I can't forget this sentiment."
As for two brothers, Nguyen Van Ha and Nguyen Ky Nam, from Soc Trang, they are also very sad because of the cruelty of the Covid-19 pandemic left to their family. During the last Covid-19 pandemic, their mother unfortunately contracted the pandemic and died at the age of 48. Ha said that the two brothers lived with their mother since they were young until she died, and did not hear any information about their father from her. Since the day their mother died, the two brothers have relied on each other. Ha goes to work with his cousin in a pottery production facility in Thuan An city, with the monthly salary of more than VND 4 million. “Since the day our mother passed away, we are fortunate to get help from the Trade Union and the family of landlord. We always remember and never forget this gratitude!", Ha said.

Mai Thanh Thao, Chairwoman of province-based Industrial Parks’ Trade Union said that for two brothers, Nguyen Van Ha and Nguyen Ky Nam who are children of a female worker at Toyobo Binh Duong Co., Ltd., Viet Huong Industrial Park, who died due to Covid-19 pandemic in early September, the Trade Union visited, encouraged and donated VND 18 million together with gifts to them. Provincial Labor Confederation also visited and gave Ha a bicycle so that he can have a mean of transport to work. In addition, the Trade Union introduced a job to Ha, but he refused because of not wanting to change his workplace. As for Nguyen Ky Nam, Ha's younger brother, provincial Labor Union and the Trade Union are negotiating with a school so that he can go to school without fees.
Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairman of provincial Labor Union said: “Before these sufferings, provincial Trade Union had many activities to visit, encourage and help the families of Covid-19 victims, children who have lost their parents, due to the pandemic. Particularly, provincial Labor Union offered "Vietnam Trade Union Savings Books" worth between VND10million and VND20million each to 66 children who have lost their parents, due to the pandemic. Currently, provincial Labor Union is continuing completing tens of documents to get saving books; mobilized organizations and donors such as provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank)’s Binh Duong branch... to join hands and contribute to supporting children orphaned, due to Covid-19 to overcome difficulties in life. “Provincial Labor Union also hopes that in the coming time, it will continue receiving the support of units, businesses and donors to give the strength to these children, helping them get more conditions for development, confidently stepping into life. ", shared Mrs. Loan.
Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a great impact on people's lives and workers facing many difficulties. Facing with this situation, in addition to the State’s support policies, provincial Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and its member organizations have mobilized units, organizations, businesses, individuals and donors to join hands in helping people and workers affected by the pandemic. In particular, provincial Labor Union donated tens of "Vietnam Trade Union Saving Books" to children orphaned, due to Covid-19 pandemic. In the coming time, provincial Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and its member organizations want to further receive support from units, organizations, businesses, individuals and donors to have more resources to help many cases facing difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic.
According to provincial Labor Union, the 4th outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the lives of people, especially workers with difficulties. Around 700 workers died and nearly 200 children were orphaned by the pandemic
