Provincial Women’s Union accompanies needy women

Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have always attached special importance to supporting members in economic development,  eradicating hunger, reducing poverty and building up well-off, happy, equal and advanced families. Along with mobilizing resources from the community, being proactive in building support models, they have actively provided their members with preferential loans for economic development. Many production models have also appeared, opening up opportunities for the local women to rise up out of poverty.

Thanks to loans from the local Women’s Union, Nguyen Thanh Xuan has bravely invested in modern tools, making her cake sale get more favorable.

Helping members reduce poverty

Thanks to being provided preferential loans together with many other support programs from the local Women’s Union, Huynh Cam Nhung and Nguyen Thanh Xuan residing in TDM ciy’s Tan An ward have not only risen up out of poverty, but also secured a stable life.

Many other members have also received plenty of support from provincial Women’s Unions at all levels to rise up in economic development, eradicating hunger and reducing poverty. Particularly, since early this year, Ben Cat town’s Women’s Unions at all levels have jointly organized classes on cooking, how to tap rubber latex, animal husbandry, veterinary…for the local women; opened 10 classes and seminars on how to tend many kinds of plants, animal husbandry techniques, safe ways in plant protection…

Practical support measures

Along with mobilizing their members to effectively use loans, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have maintained and developed lots of proper saving models. So far, they have controlled over nearly VND60bln in loan from the local branches of the Bank for Social Policies with more than 5,900 female-headed households borrowed to develop production-business models…They have also attached special importance to establishing clubs, models and groups for those who have the same passion on cultivation and animal husbandry.

With the spirit of “mutual love, mutual affection”, members of provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have actively helped each other in economic development. In response of the “Saving Day for Poor Women”, they have mobilized nearly VND3.7bln, providing loans for 1,670 needy sisters. Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have so far set up 3,866 saving groups with 131,515 members and VND9.8bln, helping 5,780 sisters get loans for economic development.

In 2015, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels raised nearly piggybanks, opened 66 ones with more than VND28mln, helping 51 poor sisters. They also further maintained a “charity rice jar” model with 8,689 kg of rice, supported nearly VND113mln for 724 needy sisters. The models of “Compassion”, “Charity kitchen”…continued upholding their efficiency and absorbed involvement of many women.

With such practical doings, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have helped the local women rise up in economic development, upholding their role in family and society.
