Building a happy family is the goal of every family, in which the role of woman is indispensable. Therefore, provincial Women's Union (WU) has been working with all-level women's unions in the province to carry out many movements and activities to support members in building happy, sustainable families.
Thuan An town Women's Union organizes cooking contest on occasion of Vietnamese Family Day (28 Jun).
In June - the peak month in response to Vietnam Family Day, all-level Women's Union in the province organized many programs and activities to create family bonds, for example, karaoke singing competition for families of TDM city Women's Union; cooking contest themed "Loving warm family meal" of Thuan An Town Women's Union; workshop on family life, premarital counseling for staff, members... Prominently, the contest "Beautiful family’s photo" 2018 was launched by Provincial Women's Day to celebrate life moments, activities, learning, entertainment of all family members. This is also a regular activity of all levels to promote the role of women in family, contributing positively to the development of society.
In order to support women with more advantages in building a happy and sustainable family, from 2017, provincial Women's Union has implemented the project "Helping to build a happy and sustainable family" in period 2017-2020 under the project "Promoting the good values of family relationships and supporting the building of a happy and sustainable family till 2020" (Project 279). Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women's Union, said that according to the plan, Project 3 targeted that by 2020, 80% of young men and women before marriage in the province would be equipped with basic knowledge of family and violence prevention; 75% parents with children under 6 would be provided with information, knowledge and skills on raising, teaching and caring for children; 95% of households would spend time on caring for and raising children, creating conditions for children to develop comprehensively in physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual aspect; 100% of districts, towns and city would implement pilot models related to building happy family, sustainable development. The project’s object is to improve the capacity of staff working in family affairs to transfer knowledge and skills on family marriage, family life education, and good values of family relationships; services, models and activities that support and build a happy, sustainable family would be built and maintained.
It is known that in 2017, provincial Women's Union selected Ben Cat town Women's Union to carry out the project. Happy family building clubs are supported by quarterly organization expenses; "Words children want to say" workshop also attracted 70 students of My Thanh Secondary School (Ben Cat town) and their parents in order to strengthen the connection between parents and children, prevention of sexual abuse…
In addition, provincial Women's Union also organized 3 training courses on family life to promote the good values of family relationships and family life education for the 450 members, staff of Happy family building clubs in Ben Cat town, Dau Tieng and Phu Giao district... Especially, North Tan Uyen district Women's Union set up a model "Keeping your family warm at 50 of ages”. Initially, this model attracted 20 member’s families to take part in. Currently, this model is expanding, attracting men to participate.
