Ranked second in the national high school graduation exam 2023: Binh Duong Education Training branch continues to prove its quality

On July 18, Ministry of Education and Training has announced results of the 2023 national high school graduation exam. Accordingly, this year Binh Duong has the second highest average score in the exam, 1 rank higher than in 2022. This result is a testament to the continuous efforts of the entire education training sector as well as high schools, continuing education centers in the province for many years.

In the 2023 national high school graduation exam, Binh Duong province is in the group of 3 localities with the highest average score of the country.

Maintain high ranking

Immediately after the Ministry of Education & Training announced results of the high school graduation exam 2023, Exam board No. 44 of Binh Duong province also organized a review of the high school graduation exam 2023. Accordingly, the 2023 high school graduation exam was held in Binh Duong while the pandemic has been carefully controlled, no longer as complicated situation as in previous years’ exams, so it was very orderly in the organization stage. This year, Binh Duong province ranked 2nd in the country (only after Vinh Phuc province), 1 rank higher than in 2022. This result is a testament to the efforts of the entire education training sector as well as high schools, continuing education centers in the province in recent years.

Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Education & Training, said that only in June, Department of Education & Training successfully held two important exams in a row, namely the provincial 10th grade entrance exam and the 2023 high school graduation exam. With the close attention and direction of Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, together with efforts of the whole education training sector and the full support of provincial localities, the both exams were successfully, safely and correctly organized. Particularly for this year's high school graduation exam, Binh Duong still maintains a high rank, being in the top 3 provinces and cities with the highest average score. This is a proud result of the whole Binh Duong education training sector after many efforts.

It is even more encouraged when this year's graduation exam in Binh Duong had no candidates or officials who violate the exam regulations. According to statistics on average scores of public schools, Hung Vuong Gifted High School ranked first with 7,911 points; Di An High School ranked second with 7,782 points; Trinh Hoai Duc High School ranked third with 7,468 points. For non-public schools, Nguyen Khuyen Junior High School - High School is at the top with an average score of over 7.9 points. The province has a total of 341 ten points, of which civic education has 323 ten points, the rest are pf chemistry, biology, physics and English.

Quality affirmation

According to examination results at Binh Duong province's exam board, the number of papers with above average scores in literature is 13,843, reaching the rate of 98.58% 98.44% in 2022); mathematics has 13,181, reaching the rate of 94.17% (95.15% in 2022); English has 9,721, reaching 85.11%… The high school graduation rate in 2023 of Binh Duong province is 99.76%. In which, the graduation rate in public high schools is 99.97%; the non-public high school graduation rate is 100%, and graduation rate of continuing education centers is 99.06%…

“Achieving this result comes from a process including many efforts of the entire provincial education training sector. With high determination of teachers and students, along with the drastic direction of Department of Education & Training in fostering and summarizing knowledge for students after the pandemic (grade 10 in 2021, grade 11 in 2022), the students were promptly supplemented with new full knowledge to complete the program and confidently sit the exam," added Mr. Phong.

In addition, Department of Education & Training also required schools to follow the illustrated exam questions issued by Ministry of Education & Training, encourage teachers to research and compile exam questions for teaching and learning at schools. Schools did regular and periodical review and tests so that students became familiar with the form, content, and structure of a high school graduation exam, and feel confident when entering the exam room to do well on their exams.

Quach Duc Thinh, Principal of Trinh Hoai Duc High School (Thuan An City), shared: “This year, the average test score of the school's students has increased compared to the previous year and still ranks 3rd in the province. With this result, we are very happy that our efforts have been rewarded. This will be the motivation for teachers and students to continue working hard in the next school year.”

In the 2023 national high school graduation exam, Binh Duong had more than 14,000 candidates. The exam board of Binh Duong province completed the exam marking and sent the exam result data to Ministry of Education and Training within the prescribed time. According to regulations of Ministry of Education & Training, from July 18 to the end of July 27, applications for re-examination will be received and a list of re-examination will be made. The exam board will review the exam papers, and completes it no later than 5 August. After that, Department of Education & Training will consider and recognize high school graduation after the re-examination, complete by August 12 at the latest.

The high school graduation rate in 2023 of Binh Duong province is 99.76%. In which, graduation rate at public high schools is 99.97%; graduation rate at non-public high schools is 100% and the rate at continuing education centers reaches 99.06%.
