On August 18, Red Cross Society of Binh Duong province gave support to a pregnant woman facing difficult circumstance to help her return to hometown awaiting the delivery.
Previously, Provincial Red Cross had received information about Nguyen Thi Ngoc Loan, a temporary resident in Thoi Hoa ward, Ben Cat town, whose husband had recently died of Covid-19, was facing extremely difficult circumstance and needed help to return her hometown to wait for the childbirth and bring her husband's ashes home. After asking Red Cross of Ben Cat Town to verify her difficult family situation, Provincial Red Cross decided to presented VND10 million and some necessities to Loan and her child.
Loan said that because she did not have a stable job in her hometown, she and her husband went to Binh Duong to find jobs. Unfortunately, her husband was infected with Covid-19 and passed away on August 6. Currently, Loan is nearly eight-month pregnant and raising a five-year-old child, so her situation is very difficult. Before getting on the bus to go home, Loan was very touched and thanked Provincial Red Cross Association for supporting her in her upcoming childbirth, as well as for assisting her bringing her husband's ashes to their home.
Before returning to her hometown, Loan and her 5-year-old son were tested quickly and got negative results for Covid-19. The Provincial Red Cross connected with Provincial Youth Workers' Club to carry Loan to an area adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City. After that, Loan was carried by Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross to her husband's hometown in Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province.
