According to Bui Huu Phong, Director of Binh Duong province Social Insurance, pursuant to Decree No. 122/2015/ND-CP dated Nov 14, 2015 of the Government on regulations on regional minimum wage to employees of enterprises, coalitions of cooperatives, cooperatives, cooperative groups, farms, households, individuals, institutions, and organizations (hereafter referred as units) that employ labors under labor contracts, from Jan 1, 2016, regional minimum wage applied to all units in the province as follows:
VND 3,500,000 / month will be applied to units within Region 1 (TDM City, Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat, Tan Uyen town, Bau Bang, North Tan Uyen district). VND 3,100,000 / month to units within Region 2 (Dau Tieng, Phu Giao district). Wages paid to untrained employees doing the most basic work must not lower than the regional minimum wage; to trained employees must at least 7% higher than the regional minimum wage; to employees doing heavy, hazardous work must at least 5% higher than wage rate of the work with normal working conditions.

Wage increases are the joy of workers
Mr. Phong also added, from Jan 1, 2016, the maximum monthly earnings used to calculated unemployment contributions determined by employers under payroll regime are equal to 20 times the regional minimum wage, namely, VND 3,500,000 x 20 = VND 70,000,000. The maximum monthly earnings used to calculated social insurance and health insurance contributions are still 20 times the current base salary, which is VND 23,000,000.
