As part of a series of activities during the Youth Month 2016, young people in Binh Duong will team up with Binh Duong Electricity Company to make propaganda work in response to the Earth Hour Campaign, beginning from March 14 to 19. Noticeably, they will organize an action of switching off lights at six-way crossroads, on Nguyen Du streets in TDM city’s Phu Cuong ward during Earth Hour from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on March 19.
In response to the Earth Hour Campaign 2016, right from early March, youngsters in Binh Duong have coordinated with Binh Duong Electricity Company to set propaganda plans. With a goal of “Saving 50,000kw of power during the Earth Hour”, they together with the local functional agencies will mobilize State agencies, businesses, production-business facilities and households to sign commitments to turn off non-essential lights and electronic appliances from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on March 19 while effectively, economically using energy and making actions in 365 days for climate change.

Provincial Youth Union will also team up with Binh Duong Electricity Company to organize a parade around inner TDM city, towns and districts by flower-decorated bicycles; hang posters in public places and deliver leaflets disseminating the significance of the Earth Hour Campaign; organize green voluntary squads that will call on businesses and residents to turn off non-essential lights and electronic appliances during the drive.
In addition, provincial Youth Union has actively launched a program on turning off engines when waiting for more than 20 seconds before red lights to reduce gas emissions. Provincial Youth Union will also organize a contest named “New vitality from recycled products” and its awards ceremony will take place on World Environment Day, June 5, 2016. Many other activities in response to the drive will be also held by provincial Youth Union.
For the drive getting better results, contributing to raising public awareness of activities to protect natural resources, the environment; save energy and combat climate change, provincial Youth Union has set up voluntary squads that are responsible for carrying out the drive’s major tasks; worked with provincial Cultural House for Children, Green Voluntary Club and Voluntary Youth Club to make a parade by bicycles, hang posters and deliver leaflets disseminating the drive while mobilizing resources to carry out programs in response to the drive.
Along with funding activities in response to the Earth Hour Campaign 2016, Binh Duong Electricity Company has printed and provided 3,000 propaganda posters, leaflets. The branches of provincial Youth Union and Electricity Company have also jointly disseminated the content and significance of the drive; mobilize State agencies, businesses, business-production facilities and households to respond to the drive; continued upholding models in response to the drive and programs saving energy, combating climate change…
