According to the announcement by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam, Binh Duong ranked fourth in the country with an average score of 7.32, an increase of 0.24 points compared to the level of last year. This result can be seen as a favorable step for the province's education sector to strive to improve the quality of education in the coming school years.

Many highlights

On the morning of July 17, the MOET announced the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam. After that, the Steering Committee for the 2024 high school graduation exam of Binh Duong province's Exam Council No. 44 held a comprehensive review meeting on the organization and results of the exam.

This year, more than 15,000 candidates in Binh Duong participated in the exam. According to the MOET's announcement, in 2024, Binh Duong ranked fourth in the country in terms of average graduation exam scores with 7.32 points, higher than last year's 7.08 points. Vinh Phuc excelled with a score of 7.464; followed by Nam Dinh with 7.369 points and Ninh Binh with 7.358 points. The remaining provinces and cities in the top 10 are Bac Ninh, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Phu Tho and Ha Nam.

Although being no longer in the top 3 localities with the highest average scores, Binh Duong still recorded many positive highlights in this year's exam. The report from provincial Department of Education and Training shows that the average score of many subjects this year is higher than last year. However, the number of papers scoring below average in physics, chemistry, and English increased compared to last year. The percentage of papers with scores above average in literature was 99.08% (compared to 98.58% in 2023); in math, it was 95.76% (compared to 94.17% in 2023); in history, it was 95.15% (compared to 88.68% in 2023); and in English, it was 85.07%...

The province had 158 perfect scores, mainly in citizen education, chemistry, geography and history. Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Di An High School and Trinh Hoai Duc High School continued leading the average scores of the 2024 graduation exam among public schools. Nguyen Khuyen Secondary-High School led the average scores among non-public schools. The high school graduation rate in 2024 for the entire province was 99.80% (compared to 99.76% after re-evaluation in 2023). The graduation rate for public high schools was 99.96%; for private high schools, it was 100%; and for continuing education centers, it was 99.63%.

"However, along with achievements done, this year's exam still had some shortcomings for change. For example, some exam supervisors did not fully adhere to the regulations, leading to incidents during the examination process such as signing in the wrong box meant for the examiner on the literature exam paper; not signing the multiple-choice answer sheets, distributing the multiple-choice tests incorrectly; marking the wrong test codes, writing the wrong number of pages in the masking box, the examiner's score box from candidates…".

Further striving to enhance position

Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Education and Training said that the successful organization of the 2024 high school graduation exam, with its achieved results, has demonstrated the responsible involvement and determination of provincial departments and localities, along with the efforts by the province’s education sector. The exam results provide a favorable step for the province's education sector to strive to improve the quality of education in the coming school years. They also serve as an important basis for the province's education sector to further adhere to developmental orientations, aiming at enhancing the sector's position in the new phase.

All candidates have the right to request re-evaluations of their exam papers. The deadline for submitting re-evaluation requests is 5 p.m. on July 26. Candidates do not have to pay fees for re-evaluation. After knowing the graduation exam scores, from July 18 to 5 p.m. on July 30, candidates officially register and adjust their university admission aspirations on the MOET's admission management system. "To better prepare for next year's high school graduation exam, the first exam of the 2018 general education program, we need to seriously draw lessons from the organization of this year's exam, prepare scenarios and exam plans carefully and in detail for each task. From now, the professional divisions of the Department need to specifically evaluate the exam results of each subject to adjust and draw lessons on teaching and learning methods accordingly, ensuring that the 2025 high school graduation exam takes place safely, seriously and with quality ensured”, Mr. Phong added.

With the tradition of solidarity, overcoming difficulties and the involvement of the entire political system, we can believe that the province's education sector will build on achieved results, overcome difficulties to successfully complete the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year, and successfully organize the 2025 high school graduation exam, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party congress, striving to build Binh Duong into a civilized, affectionate and worth-living land.

According to the MOET's announcement, in 2024, Binh Duong ranked fourth in the country in terms of average graduation exam scores with 7.32 points, higher than the average score in 2023. The top scorer of this year's exam in Binh Duong is Ho Nguyen Phu, a 12th-grade English major student from Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, with a total score of 55.7 points for six subjects. Based on the assessments from the preparation phase to the exam organization period, combined with the actual situation in organizing the 2024 high school graduation exam, provincial Department of Education and Training successfully organized the 2024 high school graduation exam.
