Tan Uyen district’s Thanh Hoi commune authority and people welcomed a certificate of the national archaeological relic for Rua Islet yesterday.
The Rua Islet national archaeological relic covering 420ha is surrounded by Dong Nai River’s branches. According to experts, the islet is believed to date back 3,000-3,500 years and is the archaeological relic firstly founded in the Southeastern region. After 2 excavations in 2003 and 2006, scientists affirmed that the Islet is a tomb area. The finding contributes to keep and uphold the national cultural identity.
