Khanh Binh and Tan Hiep communes in Tan Uyen district are urgently preparing for the local art performances “Celebrating lunar New Year 2013”. These art performances are annually held by the local Youth Union members every time Tet approaches.
For a more joyful Tet
With 314 members, Khanh Binh commune’s Youth Union is well-known as a unit with many animated activities and it also actively gets involved in movements launched by the local authorities. Despite difficulties in the task of gathering members, the local Youth Union’s Executive Board has managed to rouse youth movements by practical activities in the locality.

Tet (lunar New Year) holiday, members in each Youth Union branch urgently
prepare for art performances to welcome lunar New Year with the hope of
bringing special items viewers and creating a chance for youngsters to share valuable
experience in life and further well take part in the local movements…
To create coherence between immigrant youngsters and local ones, Tan Hiep commune’s Youth Union has teamed up with the local proprietors to organize informal parties on Tet or great holidays. These parties have contributed to bringing the joy to young workers who cannot return home for Tet, according to the communal Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Thi Hue.
Actively getting involved in movements
Youth Union members in Tan Hiep and Khanh Binh communes have actively got involved in movements and activities launched by the local authorities, including making environmental hygiene at residential estates, martyrs’ cemeteries; taking part in traditional camping festivals, voluntary blood donation campaign…
In 2012, 52 Youth Union members in Tan Hiep and Khanh Binh communes took part in the voluntary blood donation campaign. Youth Union members of the two localities also sped up activities of “Paying debt of gratitude” on Tet and great holidays.
Many exemplary role-models, namely Luong Van Cuon, Nguyen Thi Ngoc My, Giap Thi My Hau, Nguyen Quang Minh, Le Van Thong, Nguyen Thanh Huynh…, also appeared through the local youth movements. In 2012, 16 outstanding Youth Union members in Tan Hiep and Khanh Binh commune were admitted into the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Dinh Quoc Phu, Vice-Secretary of Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union said: “Most Youth Union members of the local Youth Union branches raise high the spirit of solidarity and more importantly is that they all bring an enthusiastic heart with movements. With achievements done plus plans underway, they will further make contributions to the local socio-economic development.
