Pregnant women are taken back to Dak Nong by Department of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs – Covid-19 epidemic safety assured

Talking to reporters, Mr. Le Minh Quoc Cuong, Director of Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that so far, 21 trips have been organized to bring people to 15 provinces and cities with more than 5,000 people by cars and plane.

For people living in Binh Duong who want to return to their hometown, they must contact the local authorities to register, then the locality will make a list and contact Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to unify the list regarding the time, location, pick-up and drop-off points. In case the provinces want to pick up by plane, Binh Duong will support to bring people to the airport and hand over the number of people to officials of the receiving provinces. If traveling by car, Binh Duong will arrange cars with some Central Highlands provinces’ contract with transportation companies and with garages in Binh Duong, the officials will help people gather at the provincial bus stations to organize a quick Covid-19 test before getting in the cars.

During the movement, everyone must comply with regulations on Covid-10 prevention and control such as wearing protective gear, masks and goggles. When sending them home, there will be staff to directly guide including police and medical forces so that safety and security are always guaranteed.

Mr. Cuong emphasized, after the province announced the return to the "new normal state”, many immigrant workers thought that they were allowed to return to their hometown, so they had packed their bags and rode motorbikes to their hometown in spontaneous groups, which was against the regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of Binh Duong provincial Trade Union, shared that the provincial Trade Union has coordinated with the unions of districts, towns and cities to grasp the situation, thoughts and aspirations of the company workers and mobilize people not to be impatient so as to to pull each other back to their hometown in a spontaneous manner affecting the province's Covid-19 epidemic prevention.

According to Ms. Loan, over the past time, trade unions at all levels and branches have given hundreds of thousands of gifts to freelancing workers who lost their jobs. In addition, social security policies are delivered to the people in a timely manner, so everyone needs to be calm and wise. Currently, production activities have begun to resume and vaccines have been injected, so everyone can safely stay and work.

In order for people not to spontaneously return to their hometown to affect Covid-19 prevention and control, the provincial police recommend that people do not voluntarily return to their hometowns in any manner without the consent of the local authority. Absolutely do not listen to instigating, enticing and organizing groups to return to their hometown because this is a violation of the Government's regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. Returning to the homeland without the consent, organization and coordination of the local authorities is to bring the danger of Covid-19 epidemic to family and relatives. Acts of spreading disease will be handled in accordance with laws.

According to the authorities, Binh Duong province is gradually controlling the epidemic and the conditions for ensuring health, life and social security are increasingly enhanced. Low risk of death, timely and regular support policies, partial rent assistance to disadvantaged people etc. are in place when Binh Duong is transiting to the "new normal state", opening up job opportunities and stabilizing life for workers.
