Early August 27, provincial Buddhist Sangha in collaboration with provincial Sponsoring Association for Disable People, Orphans and Poor Patients presented scholarships and bicycles to poor-but-excellent pupils (photo) across the province.
This is one of social charity activities annually organized by provincial Buddhist Sangha to encourage the local disadvantaged pupils to overcome difficulties in the new academic year. On this occasion, the organizers awarded 120 scholarships worth VND1mln each and 16 bicycles worth VND1.2mln each to poor-but-excellent pupils. Donors also donated more than 400 gifts, including moon cakes, notebooks and instant noodle, to these pupils.
It is known that provincial Buddhist Sangha mobilized Buddhist followers to contribute 100 bicycles and 400 gifts to the charity program. The total cost of the charity program was also funded by Thanh Le Export Import Co.Ltd., Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co., Vietcombank’s HCM city branch, BIDV’s Binh Duong branch, Binh Duong Building Materials and Construction Co., Asama Co. and Genimex Co.
