The 9th Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth’s League for 2012-2017 tenure is a major political event of local youths reviewing the achievements of previous tenure to orient to the coming tenure. Before the congress, we introduced Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of Provincial Youth’s League.
Reporter: Could you please make a general evaluation of the achievements of Youth’s League, youth and children activities in the past tenure?Nguyen Pham Duy Trang: Activities of Youth’s League, youths and children for the past tenure have earned encourage achievements with new and prominent features:Firstly, concentration on education has promoted typical models of “semester in army”, “learning to be good man”, “martyr tribute candle lighting”, etc. in flexible and closer manner to friends. Education of laws to Youth’s League members and the youths has dramatically changed thanks to project of “improving awareness of laws among youths in Binh Duong Province”.Secondly, quality of cadres and officers of Youth’s League as well as members has been improved to support live hood of young workers who are away from home. Regulations have been broadcast in parallel with qualification improvement of youth leaders.Thirdly, action plans of the Youth’s League have been put into practice through programs and projects of “Unifying and gathering up young workers”, “Universalization of IT knowledge”, and “young volunteers in maintaining traffic safety”. Despite limitation, the mentioned programs and projects have enforced activities of the Youth’s League.For such efforts, in 5 years, activities of the Youth’s League and movements of the youths and children have been praised up with emulation flags by Central Youth’s League and First Rank Labor Decoration by the State’s President. The Association of Youths was awarded with Third Rank Labor Decoration and Young Pioneer League was awarded Second Rank Labor Decoration.The achievements were thanks to efforts of all-level leading collectives and members.Reporter: Could you please inform us of major orientations and targets of activities of Youth’s League, youths and children in the 2012-2017 tenure?Nguyen Pham Duy Trang: The congress for 2012-2017 tenure is a festival of youths across the province. The preparation has opened up channels and forums for participants to build up the agenda with 4 major contents:Firstly, measures are proposed to improve activities of the Youth’s League in localities of young workers and young workers away from home.Secondly, reforms should be continued in terms of contents and methodology building up dreams and belief of the youths and children.Thirdly, creativity, endeavor, volunteering have been promoted as characteristics of the youths in activities.Fourthly, responsibility of the participants have been promoted in bid to build up and protect the system so as to effectively meet the targets of Program of Developing Youths in Binh Duong Province for the 2011-2020 periods and Resolution of the 9th Provincial Party Congress.Also on the agenda will be discussion about the breakthroughs of the new tenure deciding over 40 constructions, programs, and projects.
The Youth's League members are lighting up candles to tribute the fallen martyrs Reporter: Before the congress starts up, what do you want to pull out of your chest to encourage the staffs and members of the Youth’s League?Nguyen Pham Duy Trang: In the current stage, the youths and people themselves need Youth’s League cadres who are active and creative enough to be a leader and a dream weaver.Life is moving and developing in non-stop paces; thus, the cadres should be open-minded to new thoughts and advances to do greater job. Besides, it is vital to determine the factor of age conformity to organize and gather up the youths in localities and units.For the Youth’s League members, trust is the key to everything. Youth is the most beautiful time in one’s life; thus, we should be determined to our dreams and make them all come true firstly for ourselves and secondly for the family and community.Within such expectations, the coming congress is encouraging to 80 thousand members from 460 Youth’s League grassroots.
