In response to the
2011 traffic safety month, Tan Uyen district board of traffic safety has held
many concrete activities including “Self-control youth routes” campaign that is
considered as one of its opening activities.

campaign.
Statistically, since the start of this year, Tan uyen district happened 339 traffic accidents, killing 49 people, injuring 391, destroying 583 vehicles, losing hundreds of millions of VND. Facing the situation, Tan Uyen district Youth Union mapped out a campaign themed “Self-control youth routes”. 2 townships of Uyen Hung and Thai Hoa and 2 communes of Khanh Binh and Phu Chanh have been selected to implement the campaign firstly.
With 10 members including youths, unionists and local policemen, the teams of “Self-control youth routes” patrol across populous routes, markets and schools during rush hours.
Tan Uyen district Youth Union vice secretary Dinh Quoc Phu, said “self-control youth routes will impact on youths’ awareness, creating good image of traffic culture and improving awareness on traffic safety for people”.
