From general demand of the department, school board members in the province have made steps of reforms in implementing the new exams. The subjects of their choice are evidence of graduation verification and enrollment to universities.
Nguyen Dinh Chieu Senior High School in Thu Dau Mot City specialized its students in 3 levels: credit-distinction, satisfactory, and weak on that basis to reinforce knowledge for weak students and harder exercises for credit-distinction students.
From the beginning of the year the school has planned organization teaching curriculum of the ministry framework and extra classes for Grade 12 students of wishes to review their knowledge and hard training for universities and colleges.
In rural areas, senior high schools have actively built up learning plan for students. Mr Tra Duy Ty, the Principal of Tay Son Senior High School in Phu Giao District said that after the decision of universal national exam, the school had allocated their its students according to subject groups in the afternoon classes. Currently, students tend to choose the subject groups of A, A1, and C.
Testing is within Grade 12 curriculum
In the face of innovation of upcoming exams, students could not be without anxiety as their exam results would be for graduation and enrollment to universities and colleges.
But, according to information from the Department of Education and Training, the testing contents would be majorly Grade 12 curriculum.
The test requires students to identify, understand, and apply, ensuring differentiated level of contestants.
At the same time, the test is still out in the open for students to make use of inter-subject knowledge to solve. In addition, test is adjustable to curriculum changes but not too hard for the students. Graduation approval for senior high students shall be on combined results of 4 testing subjects and general average mark of Grade 12 and such results shall also be used to enroll students into the appropriate field of universities and colleges.
He added, so as to ensure high achievements of students in the upcoming national exams, the Department of Education and Training demanded schools to actively teach and review knowledge of Grade 12. Before hand, the school shall focus on teaching more in 3 mandatory subjects of testing which are Literature, Maths, and English. The school board members also are noted of good consultancy for students to choose suitable subjects for the best testing outcome.
