“Sentiment towards Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes”

Provincial Trade Union at all levels have actively launched the “Sentiment towards Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes” program. With its noble goal full of humanity, the program has receive an enthusiastic response from trade unionists and employees across the province.

Enthusiastic response

At a recent conference partially summing up its activities in the first half of 2014, the Trade Union of Ben Cat town-based industrial parks (Ips) launched the “Sentiment towards Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes” program.

Truong Van Phi, Vice-Chairman of the Trade Union of Ben Cat town-based Ips said that at the conference, the local employees actively responded to the program with more than VND13mln raised. Over the past time, the Trade Union of Ben Cat town-based Ips also received nearly VND70mln from trade union locals to support the program.

Vo Anh The, Chairman of Sung Shin Vina Co.Ltd.’s trade union local said that he felt very happy as making a small contribution to Vietnamese fishermen, Marine Police, Fisheries Surveillance forces in defending national sea and islands. The company’s trade union local will also well realize the mobilization of trade unionists and employees to contribute one day’s salary and send messages to support the program…

So far, the Labor Confederations of Di An town and TDM city have received more than VND125mln and nearly VND120mln from employees to support the “Sentiment towards Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes” program. Nguyen Thi Gai, Chairman of TDM city’s Labor Confederation said that the Standing Committee of the city’s Labor Confederation has send a document asking for trade union locals to excel at mobilizing units, organizations, individuals, enterprises, trade unionists and employees to give support for Vietnamese fishermen, Marine Police, Fisheries Surveillance forces. And the city’s Labor Confederation has received an active support from organizations and individuals across the city.

Continuing to give support

Bui Thanh Nhan, Vice-Chairman of provincial Labor Confederation said that provincial Labor Confederation has extended Circular No.108/LDLD mobilizing employees to support the “Sentiment towards Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes” program to the local trade unions at all levels.

The “Sentiment towards Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos” program aims to mobilize money from organizations and individuals at home and abroad to build a monument to commemorate 64 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Navy who were killed in a battle against Chinese forces to protect Gac Ma Island, part of Vietnam’s Truong Sa archipelago in 1988 and give financial assistance to their families in need. And the program has also received an active response from the local trade unions at all levels.

Also according to Mr.Nhan, the Presidium of Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour has further launched the “Sentiment towards Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos” program right after China illegally installed its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 in Viet Nam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. The program has called for employees to contribute one day’s salary and send messages to support Vietnamese fishermen, Marine Police, Fisheries Surveillance forces in defending national territorial waters. Hence, provincial Labor Confederation has promulgated Circular No.185/LDLD to further response to the program. “The program is receiving an enthusiastic response from employees across the province”, added Mr.Nhan.
