Along with the formation of many industrial parks and compounds, Binh Duong province has also paid special attention to building programs and plans on social housing development for workers during the local development process. This is a policy from practical requirements to ensure social welfare while helping workers who live away from their hometown to live and work in peace and contentment here. Building social housing projects is also a solution to attract labor resources at the local development requirements in the new context.
The province now has over 30 industrial parks and most of them are in operation. So far, the province has attracted a large number of workers from provinces and cities across the country to live and work. Hence, the demand for housing for workers living away from home is very great. To solve this problem, the province has planned to build and develop social housing projects for low-income people early. It is known that nearly 10 years ago, social housing areas, namely Becamex Hoa Loi apartment building, Becamex Dinh Hoa apartment building, Becamex Viet-Sing apartment buildings 1 and 2... were invested and built by Becamex IDC with the lowest selling price of only VND100 million per apartment. These social housing areas are considered as a typical model and way of Binh Duong in offering settlement to workers living away from home. Following this, Becamex IDC has also successfully implemented urban housing projects, which are actually social housing ones on a larger scale. They are high-rise apartment buildings K1, K2, K3 in the Viet-Sing residential area in Thuan An city. Employees are considered as a precious asset, also an important resource in the process of accelerating industrialization and modernization. In fact, in order to attract and retain this "precious asset", in addition to general care policies, building houses for employees is especially important. It is known that the Ministry of Construction is focusing on researching and proposing to amend the Housing Law 2014, in which the housing policy for workers is regulated in a more specific direction while proposing credit packages for social housing construction. This will continue removing obstacles, creating conditions for social housing development and helping workers who live away from home to be able to settle in their new homeland.
