That was the statement of Mr. Tran Van Nam, Chairman of PPC, Head of provincial Traffic Safety Committee, at the conference on May 20th summarizing preliminary traffic safety conditions of the first 5 months of 2015 and disseminating directions and tasks of quarter 3, 2015.
According to the Traffic Safety Committee, during the first 5 months of 2015, traffic accidents in the province continued to increase with 945 traffic accidents killing 136 persons, injuring 1,111 persons, which decreased 187 cases, 256 injuries, increased 14 deaths compared with the same period in 2014. Functional forces also detected 33,163 cases of traffic safety law violation, and sanctioned 30,754 cases, revoked 6,191 driving licenses, seized 7,996 vehicles.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Nam requested departments and agencies to work closely with high sense of responsibility to achieve the best performance. He demanded that the propaganda should be focused; patrol, investigation and sanctions should be strengthened. The province will have strong sanctions against unqualified vehicles.
