In recent years, the "Working well, working creatively” emulation movement has been widely launched by enterprises across the province. Effective initiatives have been implemented, praised and duly rewarded by enterprises in recognition of workers' achievements. Provincial trade unions at all levels have actively promoted this movement even to small enterprises, thereby creating a competitive atmosphere throughout the province.
From worker to director
According to records from provincial trade unions at all levels, thousands of initiatives participate in the "Working well, working creatively” emulation movement in enterprises each year. As a result, hundreds of individuals with initiatives that benefit their enterprises from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dong per month are selected and rewarded by trade unions at all levels. Annually, many exemplary workers from Binh Duong are chosen and honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Notably, in July 2023, seven individuals from Binh Duong were honored to receive the Nguyen Duc Canh Award. This prestigious award is organized every five years to honor workers with direct production and summarize the "Working well, working creatively” emulation movement nationwide. Their initiatives have brought tens of billions of dong in benefit to enterprises. In 2024, Binh Duong has continued having three exemplary workers to participate in the "National Labor Productivity Improvement" forum just organized. These exemplary workers, along with their colleagues, have continuously researched and proposed ideas, initiatives and solutions that their units and enterprises apply in practice, contributing to improving product quality, labor efficiency, cost savings, safe production, benefiting units and enterprises by tens of billions of dong.
"Similarly, at Maruichi Sun Steel Joint Stock Company in Di An city, employees come up with more than 30 outstanding initiatives each year. Among them, there are outstanding individuals, namely Le Thanh Hung and Cai Viet Hieu…, who constantly explore, learn and propose significant innovations. From mechanical workers, they were gradually promoted by the company's leadership to department heads and then to production department managers. Notably, in 2019, Le Thanh Hung successfully implemented a project on reducing LPG (gas) consumption for the paint drying oven, helping the company save billions of dong each year".
Investment by enterprises, promotion by trade union locals
For individuals with over 20 years of experience and many outstanding initiatives like Le Thanh Hung and Cai Viet Hieu, have not only passed on their experience to the next generation, but also served as role models for all workers in the company to learn and follow. Le Thanh Hung said that he has constantly learnt from colleagues, Japanese experts on work habits and self-research conduct. He always believes that if he strives to work hard and benefit the company, the lives of the workers will get better care.

"When proposing initiatives, we receive great support from the company's directorate, which is to accept initial support. For example, for successfully implementing an initiative in the production line, it takes a lot of time to adjust, assemble, operate and requires materials and labor...", Hung said.
In addition to enterprises spending money and encouraging workers to be creative, trade union locals at enterprises play a very important role in launching emulation movements, promoting propaganda, rewarding opportunely. Nguyen Tai Duong, Chairman of Maruichi Sun Steel Corporation’s trade union local stated: "The trade union local always coordinates with the company's directorate to launch annual technical improvement programs. Through these programs, trade unionists and workers have actively explored, learnt and innovated to improve quality, facilitating their work. The good proposals are sent by the trade union local to higher-level trade unions in the province for recognition, creating motivation and encouraging workers to continue their efforts in production. On the part of the enterprises, we promptly reward and widely apply these initiatives to benefit the company and the entire system."
Meanwhile, Dinh Thi Huong, Chairwoman of Phong Thai Rubber Co., Ltd.’s trade union local in Ben Cat city stated that each initiative comes with a reward ranging from several hundred thousand to several million dong, depending on its quality. This emulation movement not only boosts production, but also fosters the spirit of solidarity and mutual support in each production line and team. If workers are unfortunately ill, have accidents, or suffer from serious diseases, not only the company, the trade union will visit, give gift, and encourage them, but the entire workforce also joins hands to support and help them overcome the toughest times.
In recent years, thanks to the positive support from enterprises and timely encouragement from all-level authorities and sectors, workers in the province have strived to fulfill their assigned tasks well and have come up with many initiatives that benefit enterprises. The emulation movements in production at enterprises and workers' initiatives have actively contributed to the overall economic development of the province.
