Dau Tieng district today has a lot of changes with spacious houses and straight asphalt roads. This result came from the district’s poverty reduction with sound policies in constructing houses and giving vocational training, helping the local poor households to rise up out of poverty and enrich themselves legitimately.
No more households in need of housing
Building houses for poor households is one of Dau Tieng district’s major tasks. Since 2016, the whole district has constructed and upgraded 64 houses for poor households. Upon this, so far, there have been no more households in need of housing reported in the district.

Nguyen Thi Gai, born in 1961, in Thanh An commune’s Bau Cay Cam hamlet said that the district mobilized the family of Truong Van Dung in TDM city’s Phu Cuong ward to donate a 48-squ.m house of compassion with total construction cost of VND60million. Vocational training, job creation
Vocational training and job creation will contribute to shifting the local labor and economic structure, improving rural laborers’ income. This is seen as the key for the local sustainable poverty reduction, contributing to ensuring social welfare and building new rural areas. Hence, over the past years, leaders of the district instructed sectors and localities to well realize this task.
The district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs carried out a survey on laborers’ demand for vocational learning for appropriate training orientations; invited enterprises to give direct vocational training for laborers and receive them…Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. is a typical unit in vocational training in association with job creation for laborers.
In terms of vocational training, the district has selected skills for training in line with the local real situation. Learners can create jobs by themselves or seek jobs at companies after completing vocational training classes. Since 2016, the district has opened 29 vocational training classes for 800 rural laborers with non-farming and farming skills like household sewing, cooking, mushroom growing…
The district has also introduced jobs to thousands of laborers, especially the offspring of poor households. Ngo Thi Xuyen, Head of the district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs affirmed that the district’s vocational training has gradually changed people’s awareness, helping them get more opportunities for selecting suitable careers and developing new ones with stable income.
