Small but significant deeds
In the afternoon, needy children of the charity class at the address of 45/2, quarter 1B, An Phu ward gather to listen teachers’ teachings. Next to the charity class is a group of youths categorizing empty bottles, old books and newspapers to prepare for consumption.
Pham Van sang, the unionist of Quarter 1B Youth Union for Alien Youths, said “As usual, we gather second hand things to sell for earning money for the sake the charity class. On the past International Children’s Day, we earned VND1mil by selling gathered things to hold an excursion for the charity class’ pupils”.
According to Nguyen Thi Ngoc, secretary of the Quarter 1B Youth Union for Alien Youths said that this was the movement themed “For children” initiated by Thuan An town Youth Union 4 years ago. Initially, the amount of money earned by selling gathered old things is to hold birthday parties for youths and unionists. However, witnessing difficult circumstance of needy kids at the charity class, we spend all money to help them, Ngoc added.
Whole leaves wrap torn leaves
At present, all youths and unionists of the youth union have joined in all movements launched by the union. Especially, a group of 20 youths working at Loi Dat Co.Ltd. daily collects empty bottles to sell for earning money to help needy kids of the charity class.
“Our income is at over VND4mil per capita per month. We spend money to support our old parents in our native homeland in addition to expenses of accommodation, livelihood. Therefore, we have made efforts to help needy kids by simple deeds”, Kim Minh Han, the unionist of the youth union said.
Deeds of Quarter 1B youth union’s youths and unionists are simple but very significant.
