A delegation of physicians from provincial Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital is taking part in providing free medical check-ups and medicine for people with disabilities in TDM city at weekends. Under the program, provincial Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital have been assigned to provide free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for 1,366 people with moving disabilities in TDM city. The program is implemented on Saturdays from March 16 to June 2013 in 14 communes and wards of the city.
According to doctor Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of provincial Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital, the objective of the program is to help those who have moving disabilities to know more about their situation for better treatment so that they can soon recover their health, contributing to building up a more prosperous and beautiful nation.
It is known that the delegation has just provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for people with disabilities in Phu My ward. Nguyen Van Bay, Head of the Fatherland Front Committee of quarter 8 in the ward together with the local Youth Union members were very busy with guiding people with disabilities about steps in order to be medically checked and given gifts from the delegation. Mr.Bay said: “The program is very meaningful as it has contributed to helping people with disabilities enjoy free medical examination and know more about their health. Most disabled people herein now live in difficult circumstances, so they were very happy when being medically checked and presenting gifts from the delegation”.
Doctor Nguyen Van Hoa said: “The State and Party always pay attention to public health care. Physicians at provincial Nursing and Rehabilitation are very responsible for health care to people in general and those with disabilities in particular. With the significance of helping the disabled soon recover their health and confidently integrate into the community, the program has lured many physicians at the hospital…”.
The program is also sponsored by Thanh Le General Import Export Trading Corp. and Jumviex Vietnam Co. in Thuan An town. Under the program, each disable person receives VND50mln as support for medicine plus 10 kg of rice. Nguyen Thi The, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Sponsoring Association for the Disabled, Orphans and Poor Patients said that the program has contributed to helping people with disabilities get more confident to rise up. We have also implemented a livelihood program for people with disabilities in the new rural communes of the province via many practical activities, including vocational training, job introduction…
So far, the program has implemented in 7 out of 14 communes in TDM city. It is hoped that after being completed, the program will contribute to helping people with disabilities across the city get more energetic to rise up.
