Before, during and after International Women’s Day (Mar.3), businesses and Trade Union locals in the province have organized a variety of significant and practical activities for female workers, aiming to bring them useful playgrounds.
The Trade Union of Phat Trien Co.Ltd. in TDM city’s Phu Loi ward has just teamed up with provincial Youth Consultancy and Support Office to organize a karaoke singing contest for female workers on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Meanwhile, Showa Gloves Vietnam Co. in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) 1 has also got animated with many significant activities celebrating International Women’s Day. The Trade Union of the company kicked off a contest on cooking and fruit arrangement with the participation of 11 teams. After the contest, winning teams were awarded prizes worth between VND300,000 and VND500,000 each and together enjoyed dishes cooked by their members.
This is the 6th year the Trade Union of the company has organized such significant program, creating an useful playground for female workers on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Nguyen Thi Le Hang, a worker of the company said that she felf very happy when participating in the cooking contest. Through the contest, she had a chance to meet and exchange with other colleagues, making mutual coherence in work and life.
On Mar.13 ahead, the Trade Union of VSIP is expected to hold a cooking contest themed “Family meals”, a talk show on “Vietnamese women in the new period” together with a lot of interesting games for officials and members.
All the above activities aim to raise sisters’ awareness of their role in family and society, according to Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of VSIP’s Trade Union. She added that when being cared, female workers will try their best to well entrusted tasks, greatly contributing to businesses’ development. Women today have affirmed their role in family and society. Many now hold key positions and they have well upheld their leadership capacity.
The Trade Union of Ben Cat town’s Industrial Parks has also planned to organize a program in celebration of International Women’ Day in the Ecolakes My Phuoc urban area. The program will take place with practical activities, including organizing a talk show, games and presenting bouquets to outstanding women. The Trade Union will also partially review its activities in Q1 2016 and define orientations for Q 2, in which its affiliates need to attach special importance to taking care of female workers. Currently, the number of female workers accounts for around 70% of total laborers working for businesses in town-based industrial parks.
Possibly seeing, there is a diversification in organizing activities in celebration of International Women’s Day. “We always hope there will be useful playgrounds for women on Tet and great holidays. If so, we feel attention from businesses and Trade Unions at all levels, thereby helping us make more efforts in work, avoiding social evils in order to secure a healthy life.
