Provincial Red Cross Society, on August 24, held its 6th conference for the 2016-2021 tenure with focus on reviewing activities in the first half of 2018, defining tasks, orientations for the rest of the year and summing up the Humanitarian Month 2018. Attending the event were Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People’s Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
Over the past six months, provincial Red Cross Society effectively implemented a lot of humanitarian activities, namely the “Tet for the poor” program 2018, the “Humanitarian Month” 2018…, with a total value of more than VND39billion, offering help to more than 161,000 disabled, poor people and Agent Orange victims…In the “Humanitarian Month” 2018 alone, 20,137 needy people got help of VND4.1billion from the society…
Speaking at the conference, Mr.Hung acknowledged and praised provincial Red Cross Society for its results in humanitarian work over the past six months. He stressed that humanitarian work in the province needs to be implemented in the right goal and targeted people while asking for the society to continue well realizing humanitarian activities and upholding effective humanitarian models.
