Social charity activities done

On average, around 1,500 meals worth more than VND23mln are given for the poor monthly.

The district’s Red Cross Society and Health Center also collect between VND5mln and VND7mln a year from their charity box to equip additional kitchen utensils for the above charity kitchen.

*In the 2013-2014 academic year, schools in Dau Tieng district “raised” 332 piggybanks with VND77mln saved, offering help to poor pupils…The campaign of “raising piggybanks” aimed to improve the quality of Red Cross Societies at district-based schools and educate pupils towards the good.

*Provincial Military School’s managing board has just held a delegation to visit and present gifts to the family of Trinh Phuoc Bang. This is one of extremely difficult families in Tam Hiep commune’s Duoi Chuot hamlet in Phu Giao district.

The school’s managing board has accepted to support 30kg and some essential commodities for Bang’s family monthly. Although being not big, this is the sentiment of the school’s staff with the hope of partially sharing difficulties with his family.

*The Red Cross Society of Minh Hoa commune in Dau Tieng district and physicians from Van Duc Hospital in HCM city’s district 8 have just provided free medical check-up and medicine for nearly 500 poor people with a total expense of nearly VND100mln.

*Since early this year, the movement of “raising piggybanks” at Ben Cat town-based schools has collected more than VND134mln, offering help to pupils with difficult circumstances.

The Red Cross Society branches of town-based schools have also mobilized donors to award 398 scholarships, more than 1,700 gifts and made school tuition exemption and reduction for needy pupils…with a total expense of more than VND1.1bln, offering help to over 5,900 disadvantaged people.
