The provincial Construction Department vice director Tran Khac Thach said that until now Binh Duong has urged and attracted economic sectors to invest in 50 social housing projects with 69,727 apartments covering an floor area of about 2.8 million sqm. With the number of the social housing projects, Binh Duong will likely meet requirements of accommodation for as many as 179,171 people.
At present, many social housing projects have been perfected and sold for tens of thousands of laborers, bringing for them a chance of living and working in peace and contentment.
Trinh Tien Cuong, worker of Far Eastern Apparel Co.Ltd. in VSIP I just purchased an apartment at Becamex Viet-Sing social housing area. Similarly, Trinh Van Bang working at VSIP I said he just bought a social house by installment.
Bui Van Chien, vice general director of Becamex IDC said that Becamex IDC has perfected 4,320 social houses at Thu Dau Mot city, 752 at Thuan An town, 1,708 at My Phuoc IP and Bau Bang IP. Based on design, all social housing areas have adequately conveniences with the selling price ranging from VND90mil to VND140mil (excluding VAT). Surrounding the social housing areas includes essential public works such as kindergartens, parking lots, parks, eateries, shopping malls and so on.
Increasing new impetus
Possible speaking, offering stable accommodation for migrant laborers holds a very important significance. Once migrant workforce enjoy living and working in peace and contentment, they will ensure stability in manpower and help spur local socio-economic development in general and Binh Duong New City in particular.
Presently, Binh Duong New City-based Hoa Loi social housing area with 1,680 apartments have been perfected and sold for laborers. Most of the buyers are laborers working at industrial parks surrounding the new city. Once laborers enjoy a stable living, the new city will have new citizens joining hands to hasten the municipal development.
As planned, from 2011 to 2015, Becamex IDC will build 37 social housing areas with the total area of 240ha across Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An, Di An towns, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat districts and many more. These social housing areas will meet demand on accommodation for about 168,000 people.
Particularly, Becamex IDC said that the company would launch the next stage of the social housing project. Initially, Becamex IDC will build 1,000 more apartments at Becamex Hoa Loi social housing area.
In addition, Becamex IDC will base on real situation to construct more social housing areas in a bid to meet demand on cheap price houses for laborers, helping migrant workers live and work in peace and contentment, spurring development of the new city.
