Socialization of gratitude activities needs to be broadened

To pay gratitude debts, besides governmental budget, Binh Duong province needs to broaden socialization of gratitude activities, raise contributions from enterprises, organizations, and individuals to take care of Vietnamese heroic mothers, build up gratitude houses, offer savings books and furniture.

Businesses to pay gratitude debts

Mr. Vo Thanh Dien living now at Kien Dien hamlet, An Dien commune, Ben Cat town took part in the anti-American resistance war in 1965, and has now 40 years of Party seniority. His family has recently received a gratitude house worth VND70 million including VND60 million contributed by Kumho Tires Vietnam Company. He said: “I am very happy to live in this new house. I participated in war, I am weak now, my family does not have much land for farming, so my life is difficult now. A new house is a dream of my family. Afterwards, we will settle down, bring up children, and improve our life”.

Representatives of Binh Duong Lottery Company visited and gave gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Sau in Vinh Phu ward, Thuan An town.

Kumho Tires Vietnam Company usually takes part in social activities. The company devises social activities plan during 12 months with VND250 million / year sponsored by its charity fund. In addition, the company donated over VND1 billion contributed by events companies to support disadvantaged persons. In 2015, the company signed a package worth $30,000 in collaboration with provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to sponsor gratitude houses and savings books for policy subjects.

Mr. Kim Hyun-Ho, CEO of the company, said, Kumho Asiana Group always turns to philanthropic activities. Kumho Tires Vietnam Company in Binh Duong province has also paid much attention to charity works. The company established a group consisting of 10 members to perform social activities.

Paying gratitude debts to persons sacrificing their body and blood for peace, Phuoc Hoa Rubber Company has also taken good care of contributors, namely, supporting lifelong 9 Vietnamese heroic mothers. In addition, the company has organized many activities to care for veterans, invalids, martyrs' family working at the company. In annual July, the company organizes get-together of contributors, gives gifts and gratitude houses. The company also offers gratitude houses to localities where their plantations are located.

Need to be broadened

In recent years, the implementation of preferential policies for contributors in Binh Duong has been done promptly to ensure 100% contributors and family to receive allowances, preferential policies of the Party and State. Businesses also take part in these activities. Namely, during 1997-2013, Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sector built and repaired 5,303 gratitude houses worth over VND90 billion funded by provincial budget and benefactors.

Particularly, in 2014, implementing Decision No 22/2013 / QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated April 26th 2013 on supporting persons credited for contributing to the revolution, Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sector built and repaired 310 gratitude houses worth over VND11 billion, presented 3,875 savings books worth more than VND1.5 billion. Every year, provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs receives billions of VND contributed by units, individuals and businesses for the Gratitude Fund. Thereby, activities to care for policy subjects have been carried out. This proved that Binh Duong has attracted the most powerful social force, especially businesses. Some prominent enterprises that always volunteer in gratitude activities are: Becamex IDC, Thanh Le Corporation, Dai Thien Loc Company, Binh Duong Lottery, Binh Duong Mineral and Construction Company…

According to Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, thanks to large contributions from enterprises, gratitude activities in the province have been spread. Therefore, enterprises treasuring gratitude actions are in need to uphold the national tradition of “drinking water, remembering its source”.
