VND2bln raised for provincial Fund for the Poor
On behalf of provincial Buddhist community, superior Buddhist monk Thich Hue Thong, deputy head of provincial Buddhist Sangha (photo) donated VND2bln to provincial Fund for the Poor. Of the total figure, VND1.4bln (equivalent to 70 unity houses) was contributed by donors and Buddhist followers in the province while the reminding money (equivalent to 30 unity houses) came from provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board.
Social policy beneficiaries under free medical check-ups
Early Oct.31, provincial People’s Council’s Committee for Cultural-Social Affairs, in collaboration with provincial General Hospital, provided free medical check-ups and medicine for more than 500 lonely elderly people and poor people in five communes and townships of Hieu Liem, Lac An, Tan My, Uyen Hung and Thuong Tan with a total expense of VND50mln (photo).
Regiment 271 gets involved in making rural roads

VND4.6bln in cash and gifts raised for flood-stricken central provinces
Le Van Ban, 80, in TDM town’s Phu My ward, on Oct.29, handed over 20 bags of clothes raised by his relatives to the Relief Committee under provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC). Prior to that, Phuong, a small trader at TDM market also provided many clothes as relief aid as to people in the flood-hit central provinces. It is known that locals still continue raising cash and gifts for flood victims.
