Solidifying schooling institutions to meet educational demands in the new stage

Resolution of the 9th tenure Provincial Party Congress called for educational planning until 2020, targeting to standardize 60-65% of schools by 2015. Implementing such resolution, local Department of Education and Training, in 5 years, has coordinated with departments and sector to promote infra-construction across the province.

Rapid development of schooling institutions

In the term, schooling institutions in the province have been on constant growth. Currently, 516 establishments have emerged for all educational levels with additional 147 schools compared to the beginning of the term. This proved that infra-construction has satisfied the requirements and development scale. Up to date, all the schools have been solidified. In the beginning of 2015-2016 school year, 225 public schools of the province have been constructed with storeys, accounting for 64.28%.

To improve education quality, localities of the province have invested into equipment, computers, language learning classrooms, interactive projectors, Actiboard, etc. which have been made use of effectively in teaching to create dramatic transformation and sustainable improvement of education quality.

Besides, the department has helped to improve facilities and equipment for centers of continual education and technical vocational training with a boost of learning community centers to enhance awareness of every people about life-time learning, learning society, and literacy in the localities.

The constructing of schools from 2011 to 2015 was to implement preschool universalization of children of 5. In fact, Binh Duong Provincial authority has well implemented the project with strong development of preschool system in the beginning years of the tenure. As a result, Ministry of Education and Training has approved the preschool universalization for children of 5 in Binh Duong Province in 2014.

And, within the development scheme, the department carried out a project to improve quality of Hung Vuong Specialized High School from 2011 to 2015, to construct high quality Trinh Hoai Duc High School in Thuan An Town, and to construct resourcing junior high schools of Chu Van An in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Thang in Di An Town, Trinh Hoai Duc in Thuan An Town, My Phuoc in Ben Cat Town, and Tran Hung Dao in Phu Giao District. Those schools have been invested with equipment, facilities, and staffs assuring teaching and learning activities.

To promote nationally standardized schools

Binh Duong Province is one of the minority provinces and cities not financed by Ministry of Education and Training in their process of schooling institution solidifying. All the investments have been extracted from local budget. The provincial authority has made use of resources to develop education and training. Budget preserved for education has been on average growth of 11.7% annually. In 2015, it is expected that VND 3,000 billion (23% of total disbursements, 2.5 times higher than in the beginning of the tenure) has been paid out.

By the investments of the province and directions of departments and all-level leadership as well as efforts of the establishments, schools have been constructed under national standards of solidification. Up to date, 197 local schools, accounting for 62.74% of total schools, have been nationally standardized, meeting the resolution targets. Nguyen Hong Sang, the Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Education and Training said that the schooling network and facilities for teaching and learning have constantly improved to meet the demands and orientation to national standards and improving learning and teaching quality.
