Spreading the spirit of charity

Originating from compassionate and charitable hearts, religions in general and Buddhism in particular have long embodied the spirit of “good life, good religion”, spreading love and kindness through many meaningful and practical activities. For many years, Buddhism across the country, including in Binh Duong province, together with local Buddhist followers, has actively contributed spiritually and materially to build up a better and more compassionate community.

Over the past years, Binh Duong Buddhism made significant achievements in many fields, especially in social welfare, contributing to the development of a civilized, prosperous, worth-living and humane Binh Duong. Buddhist monks, nuns and followers not only participated in patriotic movements and campaigns to strengthen the great national unity bloc, but also carried out humanitarian and charitable work effectively.

Every year, on the occasions of traditional holidays, school reopening seasons, or during natural disasters affecting citizens across the country, Buddhist temples and pagodas in the province, along with local followers, actively organize community-oriented activities in the spirit of compassion and benevolence. Programs such as Tet for the Poor, charity house donations, gift and scholarship donations for disadvantaged students and free medical check-ups and medicine distribution for the needy are all efforts that Binh Duong Buddhism and Buddhist followers have participated in consistently and proactively.

It is not uncommon to see the images of Buddhist dignitaries in the province joining hands with local authorities in charitable efforts in and out of the province. Each year, thousands of gifts, ranging from cash to goods, are delivered directly to those in need, thanks to the contributions of Buddhist temples and followers. While the total amount of funds raised for these charitable activities may not be fully accounted for, it is certainly a substantial figure.

The love and compassion of Binh Duong Buddhism and its followers will continue being promoted and spreading widely. Charitable and humanitarian work, imbued with warmth and empathy, will become even more far-reaching. Through these efforts, the image of a compassionate and worth-living Binh Duong will continue being built, spreading far and wide.
